Using the Strategy

Extending the Learning throughout your Daily Routine
The documents listed below provide you with additional resources to reinforce the target words from Dialogic Reading throughout your daily routine. The Planning Sheet is a blank template to guide you in planning vocabulary activities throughout the week.

Book Template Printing Instructions: Print out the flip chart in the Using the Strategy step. There will be three pages that you print out. You should cut on the dotted line to separate each day’s reminders. Once you cut the pages apart, order them from Day 1 to Day 5. Paper clip the ordered pages to the back of your Dialogic Reading book

LET'S REFLECT

Let's Reflect

On which day does the teacher actually read the book verbatim?

How are Days 3 and 4 different from one another?

What types of questions should be asked on Day 4?

More StrategiesNow that you have read about Dialogic Reading, we encourage you to choose another instructional strategy, Book Embedded Vocabulary Instruction, Language Scaffolding, and Think, Show, Tell, Talk from the Language and Vocabulary folder.

You may also visit the Bringing It Together page to find out more about incorporating language and vocabulary into your classroom throughout the day. If you need a quick link to the many resources provided in this folder, visit the Resources page.
